A Sunny Aldbourne Christening

Oh how I adore photographing Christenings. They are one of my favourite events to photograph, so joyous and happy. And little P's christening on a glorious summer day last year was no exception.

This was the second time I had photographed baby P as her Mum Tori had been in touch earlier in the year for some studio baby photos and I was delighted when she asked my to capture P's July Christening. As a photographer, being asked to be part of such a special family day is a real privilege. I also live very close to Aldbourne so knew the Church and the setting.

On the day, no fewer than 4 babies were being baptised which made for a busy service (and use of my longest lens so I didn't get in anybody's way)! The service was perfect, and afterwards we used Aldbourne's picturesque churchyard for some pictures of P with her godparents. As it was such warm day we didn't stay long and everyone walked back to their home for some food and more celebration - including some of Tori's stunning cake she had made for the occasion.

Tori and I had talked through the plan of the day in advance and had agreed that this was also the best time to capture some more family images, including pictures of P with her Grandparents and other family members. Sometimes families choose to do this ahead of the service before their baby (and any siblings) get tired, but P was a little legend and kept (mostly) smiling throughout. A truly wonderful family occasion.
