This Wiltshire wedding on a family farm in Aldbourne last year is a beautiful example of how a meaningful setting can shape the entire feel of a wedding day. Aldbourne is beautiful Wiltshire village, with a picture perfect church and green. Surrounded by farmland and wide-open views, it’s an ideal location for couples planning a rural Wiltshire wedding.

Held on the farm the couple’s family have lived on for generations,  the celebration overlooked the rolling hills of the Wiltshire countryside, a perfect backdrop for their photographs. It was fun, colourful and relaxed, and the couple looked gorgeous, even after hours on the dance floor!

There was a fair bit of rain periodically throughout the day, but after the rain comes glorious light, perfect for their couple photos and lots of pictures with friends and family.

One of the most memorable parts of the day was capturing the Bride arrive by tractor and after the ceremony in Aldbourne Church, watching them leave with a ‘Just Married’ sign drive round the green. From a photography perspective, these moments are gold, natural, unposed and fun! I followed them through the village to get some more candid shots, and later in the day was also hoisted up in a tractor so I was able to get high enough for a group picture with St Michael's church in the background, definitely not an everyday experience.

The wedding breakfast was a delicious Ploughman's Lunch, prepared by the mums and other family members and in the evening, guests enjoyed a hog roast served outdoors, with views stretching across the Wiltshire hills.

As evening fell, the party really kicked off with a Ceilidh, and the dancing was brilliant! The Barn is part of the working farm so didn't really have any lighting but I took my studio lights which definitely helped me capture the action. Below is just a small sample of some of the day's best moments.

Barn weddings in Wiltshire have a unique atmosphere, informal, fun, and full of energy and this one captured everything that makes them so special. Hugh congratulations R and M!
